Image Manual Markups
Find & Redact
What to Know
- Images contain a Blackout Find & Redact search box in the top right corner
- Find & Redact respects existing Relativity Redaction privileges and can place any type of image redaction.
- Images over 2 pages must be OCR'd via a Blackout Image Project before Find and Redact is available to reviewers.
How to do it
- Open an imaged document.
- Select the redaction type or highlight to place.
- In the Find & Redact search bar, type the term or choose a pre-configured search rule from the drop down to redact the document.
- A message appears while the redaction is processing. A green success message will appear when the markups have been placed successfully.
Find & Redact Markup Review
Once markups have been placed, they can be accepted or rejected through the Markup Review pane. The rule column will populate with the term or preconfigured search rule that was selected in the Find and Redact search bar.
Redaction Suggestions
Blackout Redaction Suggestions adds a new card onto the Aero Image Viewer to the left of the coding pane. This card will display a list of suggested terms to redact on the current document being reviewed.
Creating Suggestions
Only terms marked up at least twice will be displayed as a suggestion by default. When the following actions are taken in the image viewer, Blackout will provide suggestions to the user based on the markup:
- Manually placing a new markup
- Moving an existing markup
- Executing a Find & Redact operation
Placing Redactions using suggestions
Once suggestions have been generated, a notification will begin appearing for users when they navigate between imaged documents. Clicking this notification will open the Redaction Suggestions pane and allow users to see the suggested markups. Alternatively, users can manually open the pane by clicking the Blackout logo to the right of the Find & Redact search bar.
Suggestions will appear in descending order based on the frequency of markups that would be applied when accepting them. Clicking on a suggestion will redact the suggested term with the selected markup style in the image viewer. Please remember to use the refresh button in the top right of the QC pane to view the new entries added after a Suggested Redaction is placed. Alternatively, the notification that appears can also be clicked to refresh.
Redaction Suggestion Instance Settings
Several Instance Settings under the section Milyli.Blackout can be used to customize Redaction Suggestions.
Setting Name | Description |
---|---|
ImageRedactionCoverageThresholdPercent | Controls the percentage of a word that needs to be covered by an image redaction to be considered redacted by the Blackout Redaction Assistant pane. |
MinimumContentRedactionCountThreshold | Controls the number of times a particular term needs to be redacted in order to have suggestions populated for a user. |
RedactionAssistantOcrThreshold | Controls the maximum number of pages allowed on a document for automatic OCR to take place on the document viewer when navigating doc to doc. |
DefaultRedactionSuggestionBehavior | Controls the default behavior for identifying what suggestions to provide to reviewers. When set to “CurrentReviewers,” the default behavior is to suggest markups based on the markups placed by that reviewer. If set to “AllReviewers,” all markups within the workspace are used to determine what suggestions to provide. This default can be overridden in the Blackout Settings tab within each workspace. |
