Applying Normalizations

Once you have completed the normalization process the next step is to write the normalized values into Relativity fields.

To begin the 3rd step, navigate to the Apply Normalizations tab. On this tab you will be able to select the destination Field for each of the normalized source values.

If this is the first time Apply Normalizations is run for a project, all source Fields are configured to have a new destination Field created with the name Normalized - [source field name], otherwise the destination Fields previously used for each source Field are selected.

When choosing a new field any existing long text field can be chosen from the dropdown. A new long text field can also be created by typing into the text box.

Please note:

• System fields are restricted from being selected.
• When opting to create a new long text field, it can not share a name with an already existing field name.
• If an existing long text field is selected, current values will be overwritten with the new normalized values.
• Two fields can not be written to the same destination.
• Fields that are source fields in the project can not be selected.

After clicking Write values to Fields the process will begin, and the page will display a progress bar with the start time and number of documents being updated.
